With the growth of e-commerce and the increasing demand for fast delivery, delivery robots have emerged as a significant innovation in urban transportation. This study aimed to identify the factors influencing Iranian consumers’ intention to use such robots. To this end, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) were combined, while additional variables such as financial risk and perceived risk were incorporated into a conceptual framework. Data were collected through an online questionnaire with 325 valid responses and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed that performance expectancy (β=0.636), perceived usefulness (β=0.531), and perceived ease of use (β=0.486) are the most significant positive determinants of the intention to adopt delivery robots, whereas financial risk (β=-0.496) and perceived risk (β=-0.245) exert significant negative effects. Accordingly, technology designers can enhance the attractiveness of delivery robots by improving system reliability and ease of use, while policymakers and logistics companies can address the main barriers to adoption by implementing fair pricing models and ensuring safety. These findings provide a practical framework for planning the development and deployment of delivery robots in Iran.
