This defect caused many studiesin the recent years to improve ductility and seismic performance. In this paper, by making hole in themiddle or end gusset plates on diagonal and X-brace samples through doing nonlinear static analysiswith ABAQUS software, it was tried to provide more ductility and to improve the seismic performanceof the brace. This performance is based on the brace buckling prevention. Therefore, holes should bedesigned in such a way that have less axial capacity than brace critical buckling load to help earthquakeenergy dissipation. Hysteresis curves show ductile behavior enhancing energy dissipation during cyclicloading of the final specimens and postponing the occurrence of buckling in the brace members untildisplacement about 2 cm while normal braces buckle in 1 cm displacement. The reduction of framestiffness approximately 8-57% and 12-17% increment of equivalent damping prove more ductility andbetter seismic behavior of the proposed system. %U https://ceej.aut.ac.ir/article_616_d7df17d4ea33ca13c1d3ed70758ab60b.pdf
