In many cases, the ground materials are not uniform and may have thin layers, which are not usually detected in geotechnical site investigations. In this research, the effects of a thin layer on the ultimate bearing capacity of a strip foundation on the sand bed are investigated by small-scale physical models. Due to very limited research that has been carried out on the thin layer effect on the ultimate bearing capacity, it seems that further studies can understand the effect of this layer. The investigations were carried out by varying the material type, thickness, and depth of the thin layer. The results indicate that the weak thin layer decreases both the ultimate bearing capacity and stiffness of the soil-foundation system and the strong thin layer increases both the ultimate bearing capacity and the soil-foundation system stiffness. The amount of this effect depends on the thickness, depth of deposition, and material type of the thin layer. According to the results, the weak layer for the critical depth of 1.2B led to the most reduction in ultimate bearing capacity by 40%, while no effects were observed at a depth of 3.6B. The strong layer is also for the state where this layer is just below the footing, had the highest increase in ultimate bearing capacity by 76%, but at a depth of about 2.4B, it was ineffective.}, keywords = {Thin layer,Ultimate Bearing Capacity,strip foundation,stiffness,Physical Modeling}, title_fa = {بررسی اثر لایه نازک بر ظرفیت باربری نهایی پی نواری واقع بر خاک ماسه‌ای}, abstract_fa = {پی‌های سطحی همانند فونداسیون‌های نواری، به‌ میزان گسترده‌ای برای انتقال بارهای روسازه به خاک‌های باربر مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرند. در موارد زیادی جنس زمین زیر پی، یکنواخت نبوده و ممکن است دارای لایه‌های نازک باشند که معمولاً در مطالعات ژئوتکنیک آشکار نمی‌شوند. با توجه به تحقیقات بسیار محدودی که در خصوص اثر لایه نازک بر ظرفیت باربری نهایی پی انجام شده است، به ‌نظر می رسد که می توان با تحقیقات بیشتر، اثر این لایه را مشهودتر درک کرد. در این تحقیق تأثیر وجود لایه نازک ضعیف و قوی بر ظرفیت باربری نهایی پی نواری بر بستر ماسه‌ای، به‌ وسیله مدل فیزیکی کوچک‌ مقیاس سیستم خاک- فونداسیون بررسی می شود. آزمایش‌های مدل فیزیکی در مخزن فولادی با طول ‌ cm100، ارتفاع  cm70 و عرض  cm70 انجام شده است. بررسی‌ها با تغییر جنس، ضخامت و عمق قرارگیری لایه نازک انجام گرفته است. نتایج نشان می‌دهد لایه نازک ضعیف باعث کاهش ظرفیت باربری نهایی و سختی سیستم خاک- فونداسیون می‌شود و لایه نازک قوی باعث افزایش ظرفیت باربری نهایی و سختی سیستم خاک- فونداسیون می‌شود. لایه ضعیف در عمق بحرانی B 1/2، بیشترین کاهش ظرفیت باربری نهایی را به میزان 40 درصد داشته است و در عمق B 3/6 تأثیری نداشته است. لایه قوی نیز برای حالتی که این لایه دقیقاً زیر فونداسیون قرار دارد، بیشترین افزایش ظرفیت باربری نهایی را به‌ میزان 76 درصد داشته است. لایه قوی نیز در عمق تقریباً B 2/4 بدون تأثیر بوده است. برای صحت‌سنجی، نتایج مدل آزمایشگاهی بستر ماسه‌ای یکنواخت، با نتایج تحلیلی محققان مختلف مقایسه شده که نشان از انطباق زیاد نتایج دارد. }, keywords_fa = {لایه نازک,ظرفیت باربری نهایی,پی نواری,سختی,مدل فیزیکی}, url = {https://ceej.aut.ac.ir/article_4659.html}, eprint = {https://ceej.aut.ac.ir/article_4659_179f8085085e341e38200951d60ac33f.pdf} }
